Oakfield - Wilber F. Easton, age 103, passed away on Monday, May 4, 2026 at his home under the care of HomeCare & Hospice.
He was born on November 20, 1922, in Alabama, NY, son of the late Floyd Easton and Mary "Tillie" Ferris Easton.
He was a devoted member of St. Cecilia's Church in Oakfield and proudly served his country as a United States Army veteran during World War II. A man deeply dedicated to his family, he found great joy in gardening and hunting. Following his retirement, he took up golf and achieved a memorable hole-in-one. He was also a member of the VFW he joined the Oakfield Rod and Gun Club in 1947.
He is predeceased by his wife, Julia G. Mikolajczyk Easton who passed away on December 13, 2018, his daughter, Doreen Johns who passed away on September 3, 2023; his grandson, Eric Easton who passed away on October 28, 2020 and his siblings, Florence Moore and Ethel Bruening.
Surviving are his children, Gerald (Bernadette) Easton of Basom, Marianne (Richard) Cupler of Pavilion and John R. (Kimberly) Easton of Akron; seven grandchildren, Robert (Kathy) Johns of Pavilion, Juliette Hyatt of Oregon, Lynnette (Michael) Morris of Oakfield, Shawn (Nicole) Easton of Oakfield, Emily (Joshua) Szary of Corfu, Andrea (Josh Stanek) Easton of Pembroke and Sara Cupler of Alabama; many great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call on Thursday from 4 pm to 7 pm at the Burdett & Sanford Funeral Home, 11 Maple Avenue, Oakfield. His Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at 11:30 am at St. Cecilia's Church, 56 Maple Avenue, Oakfield. Burial, with military honors, will follow at St. Cecilia's Cemetery.
