Virginia C. Ivison

Byron- Virginia C. "Ginny" Ivison, age 81, passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2026 at her home under the care of HomeCare & Hospice.

She was born on August 20, 1944 in Rochester, a daughter of the late Frederick T. and Phyllis Cooledge Couch.

Ginny retired as the Office Manager at Brandy's Mold & Tool in West Henrietta after many years of dedicated service. She was a devoted member and past captain of the Byron Rescue Squad and was actively involved with South Byron United Methodist Church, where she served on numerous groups and committees. She also served on the Byron Cemetery Association and was secretary of the New York State Snowmobile Association.

Ginny and her husband, Gerry, enjoyed traveling extensively throughout the United States, appreciating the beauty and diversity of the country together. In her free time, she loved reading, working with yarn, and snowmobiling with her family at their camp in Tug Hill. She will be remembered for her dedication to her community, her love of family, and her adventurous spirit.

She is survived by her husband, Gerald E. Ivison, whom she married on December 19, 1964; her sons, John (Adella) Ivison of Carlton and Creg (Denise) Ivison of Lacona; five grandchildren, Jacob (Kara) Ivison, Katelin (fiance Frankie Petrie) Ivison, Cora (Ryan Piniewski) Ivison, Olivia (Brad) Phelps and Jay (Mikenna) Ivison; great-grandchildren, Emmett Ivison and Callahan Phelps; her sister, Cheri Pittman of Crestview, Florida; sister-in-law, Shirley Hobin of Byron and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call on Saturday, August 8, 2026 from 9:30 am to 11:00 am at H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 403 East Main Street, Batavia. Ginny's funeral service will immediately follow visitation at 11 am at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest in Byron Cemetery. A reception for Ginny will be held at the Byron Fire Department Recreation Hall, 6357 Townline Road, Byron from 1 pm to 3 pm.
