It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Terri Elizabeth Steger, 65, of Bethany, who passed away at her home on October 26, 2026.
Born on August 23, 1961, in Batavia, Terri was the daughter of Robert Musshafen and the late Elizabeth "Betty" (Knickerbocker) Musshafen.
Terri worked at Le Roy Animal Hospital, where her friendly personality and willingness to help made her a valued member of the office team. She was also a proud member of the Le Roy Moose Club, Le Roy American Legion, and Stafford Ladies Auxiliary, where she enjoyed the friendships and sense of community she found along the way. She loved cheering on her beloved Buffalo Bills, bowling, hosting gatherings, and camping with Pop at Timberline Campground, where she made countless memories and lasting friendships.
Known for her vibrant, outgoing personality and heart of gold, Terri had a special way of bringing warmth, laughter, and happiness to those around her. Her generosity came naturally, whether she was lending a helping hand, offering a comforting voice on the other end of the phone, or simply making someone feel welcome. She found joy in bringing people together, and those who knew her will fondly remember the little things that made her so uniquely Terri, including her Christmas tree that remained lit all year long.
Above all, Terri was deeply devoted to her family. She treasured time spent with her loved ones, especially her grandchildren, who brought her immeasurable joy and pride. Her family was the center of her world, and she expressed that love through the countless ways she showed up for them, both big and small. The memories she created and the love she shared will remain with those who knew her for years to come.
Terri is survived by her devoted partner, Steve Wenzka (Pop); her father, Robert Musshafen; her children, Brandon Mullen, Sarah (Matthew) Christ, and Travis (Nicole) Steger; her grandchildren, Noah, Lillian, Grace, Mattea, Jamie, Leland, Madelyn, and Paisley; her siblings, Neil Musshafen, Karen (Dave) Adrian, Lynn (Tracy) Sheffer, and Gail (Scott) Pangrazio; as well as many nieces, nephews, dear friends, and her beloved dog, Odin.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of H.E. Turner & Co., Inc. Funeral Home, 135 E. Main St., Batavia. Terri will be laid to rest during a private service at St. Francis Cemetery in Le Roy. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2026, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Oakfield Fire Department.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Terri's memory to Crossroads House in Batavia, New York.
