Batavia- Sue R. Arnold, 80 of Batavia passed away on Friday, January 13th, 2023 at Premier Genesee Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Batavia, NY after a lengthy illness.
She was born Friday, October 23rd, 1942 in Elmira, NY a daughter of the late Raymond and Minnie ( Calkins ) Kline. Sue graduated from Batavia High School in 1961. She met her husband , Edward Arnold in 1964, cruising around Batavia. Sue said “ he was the best looking guy she had ever seen in his 59 Ford Galaxy”. They were married in November of 1968.
Sue worked for many years at Genesee Hardware in Batavia and enjoyed socializing with all her customers. She loved country life and enjoyed baking, canning, & sewing. Her passion was her vegetable and flower gardens. She also devoted her time to her dogs and grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Minnie Kline, sisters, Trudy Werner and Gladys Confer, and brother Edward Gifford.
She is survived by her husband, Edward Arnold, her sons, Jerald (Kim) Arnold, and Jeff (Stacey Stachowski) Arnold, her grandchildren, Cody (Catelin Andrews) Arnold, Casey ( Leah Thompson) Arnold, Carley Arnold, Brandon Arnold, Bradly ( Sara Zakes) Arnold and several nieces / nephews.
Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, January 17th, 2023 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Burnett & Sanford Funeral home, 11 Maple Avenue , Oakfield, NY 14125. Sue’ s funeral
service will be held at 12:00 pm on Tuesday, January 17th, 2023 at Burdett & Sanford Funeral Home. Burial will be in Reed Cemetery in Oakfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to Genesee County Animal Shelter, 3841 W Main St. Rd. , Batavia, NY 14020.
