A Life of Love, Strength, and Lasting Light: Remembering Stacey L. Arnold
Stacey L. Arnold of Oakfield, 55, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2026, surrounded by her loving family at Hildebrandt Hospice Care Center, Greece NY after a courageous fight with cancer
Stacey was born January 6, 1971, in Batavia, NY. She is the daughter of Henry and Mary Lu (Smith) Stachowski of Oakfield. Stacey is survived by her husband, Jeff Arnold. Her son Dylan (Stephanie) Mackey, daughter Peyton Mackey DVM, Stepson's Cody (Caitlin, fiancé) Arnold and Casey (Leah) Arnold with granddaughter Ellie Arnold. Her brother Henry (Merry) Stachowski of Batavia. Nephew Joseph Stachowski and Niece Ashley Stachowski. Aunts, Uncles and cousins.
Stacey graduated from Oakfield-Alabama High School in 1989, where she participated in soccer, softball, and cheerleading. She later studied fashion and merchandising at Genesee Community College and continued playing soccer.
Stacey worked at JCPenney in Batavia for more than 20 years, managing many areas of the store. She cherished her time there and remained close with many of her colleagues. After the Batavia store closed, she joined Deep Blue Pool and Spa, where she enjoyed serving customers and formed close bonds with her coworkers.
An avid photographer, Stacey loved capturing the beauty of nature. She also photographed senior portraits, families, weddings, and engagements.
Her love of animals was especially evident in the care she gave to the birds that visited her feeders, particularly the hummingbirds. Stacey and her husband, Jeff, also enjoyed visiting the Adirondack Mountains and spending full days riding the trails.
Stacey never gave up. Through every challenge, difficult day, and obstacle, she fought tirelessly with a strength that inspired everyone who knew her. She continued to smile and laugh, always finding reasons to look toward tomorrow with hope. Her positivity was a gift to others. Stacey loved her family and closest friends fiercely and remained deeply loyal to them. Her children were her absolute pride and joy.
A Celebration of Life will be held on September 4, 2026, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Alabama Fire Hall, 2230 Judge Road, Basom. Memorial contributions may be made to Roswell Park Alliance Foundation, PO Box 631, Buffalo, NY 14240 or Volunteers for Animals, PO Box 1621, Batavia, NY 14021.
