On May 26, 2026, Shirley Taylor was taken to the Lord.
She was born February 22, 1950 In Batavia, daughter of the late Albin and Helen (Macugowski) Simonds.
Shirley loved life and could always be heard laughing. She always had a positive attitude.
She owned and operated her own Hair Salon in her home for years. Her clients were like family to her. She was later introduced to the art of pin striping. She had always loved art and was very proud of her work. She was published in 8 auto magazines and in the local Batavian.
She especially loved doing the charity art shows and auctions that benefited several charities in Syracuse, Cleveland, and Buffalo.
Shirley leaves behind her husband and best friend, Jim Taylor, and son, Jayson (Anita) Taylor. In death, she is reunited with her parents, Albin and Helen Simonds; brother-in-law, Tom Miller, and sister, Lorraine Criddle.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of H. E. Turner & Co., Inc., Funeral Home, 403 E. Main Street, Batavia. There are no calling hours or services.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: Homecare & Hospice, 29 Liberty St., Suite 6 Batavia, NY 14020, or Tunnel to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Boulevard, Staten Island, NY 10306.
