Batavia - Roy F. Beam, Sr., 75 of Batavia passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday (August 26, 2026) at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester.
Roy was born November 3, 1950 in Middletown, New York, a son of the late Edward Beam and May Brown.
Roy's 50 plus year career in trucking was his pride and joy. He'll be missed greatly by the family who loved him and his best furry friend, Teddy, which he spent afternoons watching old westerns with. Roy was a man with a good heart and ability to make others feel safe.
Surviving is his wife, Martha Horton of Batavia; children, Nicole Beam, Lynda (Wilfredo) Robassa, Paul Beam, Kelly McCombs, Roy Beam, Jr., and Cindy Beam,; step-children, Jennifer Moss, Eugene Mavoides, Samuel Mavoides, and Mitchell Mavoides; siblings, Viola (John) Meland, Edward (Deborah) Beam, Vincent Beam, Wayne (Yvonne) Beam, and Glen Beam. 13 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren also survive.
Along with his parents, Roy is preceded in death by a grandson, Nikkolai Martinez; siblings, Richy Beam, Ross Beam, Carol Martel, and Sharon Simpson.
Family and friends are invited to attend Roy's Celebration of Life on October 10, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. at Bridge Ministries, 243 South Swan Street in Batavia. Pastor Toby Nagel will officiate. Interment in Hillside Cemetery in Middletown will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
