Rose M. Tumminello, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 19, 2026, at the age of 94. Born on August 5, 1931, in Batavia, Rose was a resident of Gastonia, North Carolina, but her heart always remained in her hometown of Batavia.
A graduate of Batavia High School, Rose dedicated much of her life to her work at C.L. Carr in Batavia, New York. Her commitment and dedication were evident in all she did, both professionally and personally.
Rose was a devout member of Resurrection Parish in Batavia. She found joy in the simple pleasures: solving crossword puzzles, reading, tending to her flowers, and listening to music. Rose cherished the times she spent camping with her late husband, Frank C. Tumminello, who predeceased her on January 6, 2000. Her devotion to her family was unparalleled, and her legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire those who knew her.
Rose is survived by her loving children, Thomas (Karen) Tumminello of Oakfield, Kathleen (Lynn Baker) Lathrop of Stafford, Theresa (late Peter) Falcone of Gastonia, North Carolina, and Joanne (Mark Milcarek) Tumminello of LeRoy. She was a proud grandmother to Robert (Melanie) Tumminello, Michelle (Jeff) Kraska, Shane (Emily), and Aaron (Alyssa) Lathrop, and she was blessed with several great-grandchildren who brought immense joy to her life. Rose also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews who will cherish her memory.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Theresa Tresco, her beloved husband Frank, and her siblings Angeline, Archie, Anthony, Vincent, Jerry, Gabriel, Michael, John, Joseph, Vito, and Mary Tresco.
Family and friends are invited to attend visitation hours on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, from 4 pm to 7 pm at Bohm-Calarco-Smith Funeral Home, 308 East Main Street, Batavia. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at 9:30 am at Resurrection Parish, 303 East Main Street, Batavia. She will be laid to rest in St. Joseph's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to your local hospice organization.
