Batavia - Mrs. Rose B. (Ritter) DiSalvo, age 90, passed away on Friday, January 9, 2026 at the New York State Veterans Home.
She was born on July 9, 1935 in Batavia, daughter of the late John Ritter and Charlotte Potrzebowski Dahlquist.
Rose worked along with her husband for many years as the co-owner of DiSalvo Shoe Store, Inc. She was the former president of the Brooklyn School PTA, treasurer of the Batavia Middle School PTA and received a lifetime PTA membership award. She was the city chairperson for the Block Mothers, Cub Scout den mother at the Methodist Church, Boy Scout Troop 1 and member of the Mothers Club. Rose also served as a Bishop Committee member for the Diocese of Buffalo, chairman of the Pop Warner little league football refreshment stand, council on Title 1 at Jackson School and as secretary of the Genesee Country Mall Association. A member of St. Anthony's Church and their altar and rosary society, she was a member of the YWCA, Paolo Busti Cultural Foundation, the St. Jerome Hospital Guild and the Genesee Memorial Hospital Guild. She served as a city election inspector and was a member of the Multiple Sclerosis Support Group.
She is predeceased by her husband, Ronald DiSalvo whom she married in 1955 until his passing in 2019. She is also predeceased by her brother Joseph Ritter, sister-in-law Vida DiSalvo, brother-in-law Jim DiSalvo, sister-in-law Kitty Severino and brother-in-law Louie Severino.
Surviving are her children, Michael DiSalvo, Kathy (Dan) Reuter, David (Sandy) DiSalvo and Sam (Michele) DiSalvo; her grandchildren, Stacie (Mike) Anderson, Kellie (Mike) Ottley, James Stack, Katie (Scott) Helser, Sabrina Laher, Aren (Alesha) DiSalvo, Valerie (Matt) Cramer, Jessica DiSalvo, Sammy DiSalvo, and Amanda DiSalvo; 18 great-grandchildren; her brother, Paul Ritter; sisters-in-law, Connie DiSalvo, Florence (Joe) Condidorio and her brother-in-law, Sam DiSalvo and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call on Wednesday, January 14, 2026 from 9:30 am to 11:30 am at the Bohm-Calarco-Smith Funeral Home, 308 East Main Street, Batavia, where prayers will follow at 11:30 am at the funeral home. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 pm at Ascension Parish, 19 Sumner Street, Batavia. She will be entombed in St. Joseph's Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Activities Fund at the New York State Veterans Home, 220 Richmond Avenue, Batavia, New York 14020.
