Batavia - Robert Harold "Bob" Dolan, 74, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2026, after a brief illness and a courageous battle with cancer.
Born on September 11, 1951, in Buffalo, New York, Bob was the son of John E. "Jack" Dolan and F. Lois Dolan (Smith). He attended Diocesan Preparatory Seminary and graduated in 1969. He later attended Bryant & Stratton College in Buffalo, where he studied Computer Science.
Bob proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War aboard the USS Hawkins (DD-873), the destroyer he knew by its nickname, "Tin Can 873." Following his military service, he built a long and varied career, working for the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), Home Depot, and several other employers throughout his life. He was known for his strong work ethic, dedication, and willingness to take on new challenges.
Bob married the love of his life, Marjorie J. Dolan (Berk), on December 12, 1974. Together, they shared more than 51 years of marriage, building a life centered around family, love, and devotion.
Bob was a devoted Buffalo Bills fan and a follower of all American sports. He had a special passion for NASCAR racing, especially cheering for his favorite driver, Christopher Bell, driver of the No. 20 car. More than anything, Bob treasured spending time with his family and took great pride in their accomplishments.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Marjorie J. Dolan (Berk); his children, David Dolan (Terri) and Elizabeth L. Warren (Jason); his grandchildren, Brock Warren, Brandon Warren, Travis Packard, Jared Dolan, Zachary Dolan, Maryellen Dolan Archambault, Patrick Dolan, Adam Dolan, and Andrew Dolan; and five great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Norma, Elaine, and Karen, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Bob was preceded in death by his son, Andrew E. Dolan; his parents, John E. "Jack" Dolan and F. Lois Dolan (Smith); and his siblings, James and Judy.
Bob will be remembered for his service to his country, his devotion to his family, his quiet strength, and the kindness he extended to those around him. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday (July 7, 2026) from 4 to 6:00 p.m. at H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 403 East Main Street in Batavia. Bob's funeral service will immediately follow visitation at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial in Western New York National Cemetery will be private.
