Richard C. Donath

Richard C. Donath, age 84, passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2026 at Greenfield Health and Rehabilitation Center in Lancaster.

He was born on January 23, 1942 in Buffalo, a son of the late Horace O. and Arliene L. Austin Donath.

He served with the United States Navy from 1964-67 and worked as a mason for many years with the Rochester Bricklayers Union. He traveled extensively throughout his life, embracing new experiences and cultures wherever he went. An avid skier, he found joy on the slopes and in the outdoors. He will be remembered for his sense of adventure.

He is survived by his sister, Diane (Dana) Stringham of Batavia; sister-in-law, Nancy Donath of Lafayette; niece; Melissa (Parks) Frady; nephews, Brian (Melissa) Stringham, Kurt (Kathy) Donath and Carl (Karen) Donath and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

He is predeceased by his brother, Donald Donath.

There are no prior calling hours. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. He will be laid to rest in Morganville Cemetery. Memorials in his name may be made to The 25 Neediest Fund, c/o Nan Zorn, 12 River Street, Batavia, New York 14020.
