Penny J. DiFilippo, of Batavia, passed away on Wednesday, October 22nd, 2025, at the age of 72. She was born on December 16th, 1952 in Batavia.
Penny dedicated 20 years of her career to the Batavia City Schools, where she worked in food service. She recently retired, looking forward to spending more time with her loved ones and indulging in her favorite pastimes. Penny had a passion for golfing, playing cards, and spending quality time with her family. She cherished her trips to the casino with her best friend, Sue.
She is survived by her children, Richard A. DiFilippo, Kim (Jim) Turman and Lori (Garth Rowcliffe) DiFilippo, all of Batavia. Penny was a proud grandmother to Jamie (Ben) Holman and Jessica Turman, and a loving great-grandmother to Bennett Holman. She also leaves behind her adored granddogs, Finn, Khloe, and Cooper. Her brother-in-law, Robert Darch of Batavia, sisters-in-law, Veronica "Dolly" DiFilippo of Batavia and Susan DiFilippo of Florida, along with numerous nieces and nephews, will fondly remember her.
Penny was preceded in death by her loving parents, Richard F. Wilkes and Betty Bovee Wobser, her devoted husband, Carmen A. DiFilippo, who passed on March 22, 2018, and her son-in-law, Kevin L. Squire, who passed away on December 6, 2015.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Tuesday, October 28th, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. at Bohm-Calarco-Smith Funeral Home, 308 East Main, Batavia. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 am on Wednesday, October 29th at Ascension Parish, 19 Sumner Street, Batavia. in lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Volunteers for Animals, P.O. Box 1621, Batavia, New York 14021.
