Nancy Lee Reimer

Nancy Lee Reimer (née Bell), age 79, passed away peacefully on August 6, 2025 in Batavia, New York. Born on November 7, 1945, in Buffalo, New York, she was the beloved daughter of the late Harry and Mae (Giesz) Bell and sister to the late George Bell. She is survived by her brother, Michael Bell.

A proud graduate of Alden High School’s Class of 1963, Nancy began her professional life as a dedicated fourth-grade teacher at St. Anthony’s. After starting her family, she taught gym and swim classes at the YMCA and she later worked in fine jewelry at JC Penney’s. However, it was her role as a travel agent that brought her the greatest professional joy—organizing and leading group trips around the world. Her love for travel was not just a career, but a lifelong passion that took her across the globe and enriched her life with unforgettable experiences. She particularly loved cruise vacations, going on 44 in her lifetime.

Nancy was a devoted wife to Norman Reimer and a loving mother to their four children: Leanne McGuinness (Timothy), Richard Reimer (Tracey), Micheal Reimer (Beth) and Jill Halpin (Graham). She embraced motherhood with warmth and creativity, balancing her roles as homemaker and nurturer with grace. Nancy and Norm celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in June.

The light of Nancy’s life was her eleven grandchildren: Jeffrey McGuinness, Matthew McGuinness, Jeremy Reimer, Justin Reimer, Morgan Reimer, Olivia Halpin, Lauren Reimer, Owen Halpin, Aiden Reimer, Finn Halpin, and Camden Reimer. She was an ever-present figure in their lives—cheering from the sidelines at soccer games and volleyball tournaments; applauding proudly at plays, concerts, graduations, and award ceremonies; and celebrating every milestone with boundless enthusiasm.

Nancy had an artistic spirit that shone through in her love for ceramics and holiday celebrations. Her home was often filled with handcrafted decorations and festive cheer—a reflection of her deep commitment to family traditions. She enjoyed decorating elaborate birthday cakes for her family and she was a gifted seamstress who sewed dresses for her daughters and granddaughters. She found joy in creating beauty around her and sharing it with those she loved most.

Friends and family are invited to attend a celebration of Nancy’s life on Sunday, August 10th from 4pm - 7pm at Eli Fish Brewing Company, 109 Main Street, Batavia, New York. In lieu of flowers, the family is suggesting donations to the Batavia Boys Soccer Boosters, 4403 North Bennett Heights, Batavia NY 14020.

Nancy Lee Reimer will be remembered for her unwavering devotion to family, her adventurous heart, and the joy she brought into every room she entered. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved her.
