Batavia - Monica A. Gibbons, age 96, of Batavia passed away on Friday, July 2, 2021.

Ms. Gibbons was born Monday, December 8th, 1924 in Batavia, a daughter of the late Peter J. Gibbons and Ellen Rowan Gibbons.

She was a graduate of St. Joseph Parochial, Batavia High School and attended RIT. She was employed by Doehler-Jarvis Company in the payroll and data processing departments and was a member of their quarter century club. She also worked in the data processing department of the former Genesee Memorial Hospital.

An avid bowler, she was a member of a ladies bowling league and also enjoyed working in her yard, her flower garden and taking care of her home.

She was always proud of her Irish ancestry as her grandparents came from Ireland.

She is survived by her cousin Eugene (Annette) Drexel and their families of Rochester.

She is predeceased by her sister, Loretta M. Gibbons and her longtime friend and neighbor, Gwen Williams.

There are no prior visiting hours. Monica 's Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Wednesday, July 7th, 2021 from St. Joseph's Church, 303 East Main Street, Batavia. She will be entombed in St. Joseph's Mausoleum. Memorials may be made to Resurrection Parish, 303 East Main Street, Batavia, New York 14020.
