Maryanne Dugan, a lifelong resident of Batavia, New York, peacefully passed away at Crossroads House on Monday, October 27th, 2025, at the age of 81, after a courageous three-year battle with cancer.
Born on February 3rd, 1944, in Batavia, Maryanne was a cherished daughter of the late Thomas and Catherine Marchese.
Maryanne's life was full of love and laughter shared with her family and friends. She was a dedicated bookkeeper at Alexander's Department Store before retiring from JCPenney. Her dedication to her work left a lasting impression on her colleagues and family. She loved a good card game, the excitement of the casino, a beach vacation, and, most of all, cherished every moment shared with her children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jon D. Dugan; her parents; her siblings, Thomas Marchese and Jeanette Fryer; and her brother-in-law, Gary Dugan. Maryanne leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion cherished by her children; Michael Dugan of Batavia; Michelle (Wayne) Hill of Batavia; and David (Janet) Dugan of Upper Saddle River, NJ; grandchildren, Ashley (James) Williams, Kelsey (Alex) Gerhold, Lindsey Hill, Matthew (Lauren) Dugan, and Amanda Dugan; great grandchildren, Cameron Gerhold and Brianne Williams. She is also survived by her brother, John (Catherine) Marchese, and her sister-in-law, Michelle Dugan. She leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members who will deeply miss her.
A funeral service to honor and celebrate Maryanne's life will be held on Monday, November 3rd, 2025, at 10:00 am at Bohm-Calarco-Smith Funeral Home, 308 E. Main Street, Batavia. Following the service, Maryanne will be laid to rest at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Batavia.
