Mary Lee Thorpe

Pembroke - Mary Lee Thorpe, 77 of Pembroke, passed away on Thursday (October 29, 2026) at Wyoming County Community Hospital in Warsaw.

Mary was born February 13, 1949 in Rochester, a daughter of the late Elsworth and Dorothy (Sharpsteen) Sharpe.

Mary was a long time volunteer at Crossroads House in Batavia, and held the special place of being among the first when the organization was founded in 1998. She was a foster parent in Genesee County for many years and enjoyed reading, puzzles, attending garage and estate sales. Most of all, Mary cherished time spent with her friends and family.

Surviving is her husband, Ernest J. Thorpe; sons, John Wolter of Batavia and Kenneth (Lindi Redding) Wolter of Batavia; and a grandson, Tyler (Heather Branigan) Colby-Wolter.

Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Wednesday (November 11, 2026) at 10:00 a.m. at Batavia Assembly of God Church, 24 North Spruce Street in Batavia. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Crossroads House, 11 Liberty Street, Batavia, New York 14020.
