Bergen - Martin C. La May, 75 of Bergen passed away on Thursday, (January 1, 2026) at home of natural causes.
Mr. La May was born October 6, 1950 in Rochester, a son of the late Armand La May Sr. and Elinor (Ranfone) La May.
Marty coached hockey, taught his daughters how to use tools, and how to read maps and learn how to drive without needing them. He was an avid golfer and loved to watch football and hockey. A dedicated Cowboys fan who later cheered on the Buffalo Bills. He was a diehard Montreal Canadians and New York Yankees fan. He loved kayaking and camping in his Scamp. He was a veteran of the US Air Force.
Martin is survived by his daughters, Sarah (William Dowie) La May of Solvay and Abbey (Chris) La May-West of Lincoln, Vermont; siblings, Armand "Skip" (Annette) La May, Jr. of Fairport, Paul La May of Irondequoit, Joseph (Sherry) La May of Macedon, Yvonne (late John) Ireland of Greece, Ann Baleno of Stafford, and Elinor (Charles) Guess of Tennessee. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Along with his parents, Martin is predeceased by his brother, Christopher La May.
Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday (January 10, 2026) from 1 to 4:00 p.m. at H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 51 South Lake Avenue in Bergen. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to either the Wounded Warrior Project or Lollypop Farm.
