Mae Elaine Wheeler, 87, of Churchville, passed away on July 15, 2026, surrounded by her loving family, at LeRoy Village Green, LeRoy, NY.
She was born on January 21, 1939, in Churchville, a daughter of the late Arnold and Maryann (Pimm) Baker.
Mae graduated from Churchville-Chili High School and married the love of her life, Larry Wheeler, on August 17, 1957. Together, they built a life centered on love, family, and unwavering devotion to one another. Mae served as a secretary at Churchville Fire Equipment for 25 years.
Mae was a warm and loving woman whose greatest joy was caring for her family. She found happiness in baking for those she loved and treasured every opportunity to spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her kindness, gentle spirit, and unwavering devotion to her family will be remembered by all who knew and loved her.
Mae is survived by her loving husband, Larry Wheeler; children, Thomas (Karen) Wheeler and Patricia Wheeler; grandchildren, Michael (Lauren) Zuber, Tristan (Ryan) Hrobuchak, Matthew (Danielle Cramner) Wheeler, and Kristi Wheeler; great-grandchildren, Bing Zuber, Chase Zuber, Tate Zuber, Gia Zuber, Ellie Wheeler, Trevor Tam, Sawyer Hrobuchak, Haylee Hrobuchak, and Josie Hrobuchak; sister, Audrey Embling and sister-in-law, Carol Baker; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In death Mae is reunited with her parents, Arnold and Maryann Baker; grandson, Wyatt Zuber; siblings, Arnold Baker, Richard (Diane) Baker, Stephen Baker, and brother-in-law, Rev. Clyde Embling.
The family would like to thank the caring staff at LeRoy Village Green for the excellent care and love provided for the last four years of Mae's life.
Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday, July 25, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm, followed by Mae's funeral service at 2:00 pm, at H.E. Turner & Co., Inc. Funeral Home, 51 South Lake Avenue, Bergen, NY 14416. Mae will be laid to rest in Riga Cemetery, Riga, NY.
