Joyce Hart, lovingly known to family and friends as "Nana," passed away peacefully at home on June 8, 2026, surrounded by her family following a sudden fall. She was 89 years old.
Born on June 18, 1936, to Russell Brimmer and Nathallia Hargrave Brimmer, Joyce grew up in LeRoy, New York, where she developed the values of faith, hard work, family, and service that guided her throughout her life. On November 22, 1965, Joyce married Raymond Hart, owner and operator of Ray Hart's Garage in Byron, New York. Together, they built a life centered on family, dedication, and community until Raymond's passing in 2000. Joyce then moved to Central Florida to be near her daughter and granddaughter.
Joyce was a woman of many talents and interests. She loved traveling and cruising, always eager to explore new places and enjoy new adventures. Family members affectionately knew her as the organizer and navigator of every trip, carefully planning routes and ensuring every journey was memorable. She was an accomplished homemaker who found joy in cooking, gardening, canning, sewing, crocheting, and painting. Her homemade chili sauce, pickles, and pies became family favorites, and she delighted in teaching her granddaughters the skills she had learned. Her kitchen was often the heart of family gatherings, where love was expressed through home-cooked meals and cherished traditions. Music was another passion throughout Joyce's life. She loved Christian and Country music, enjoyed attending musicals, and often shared stories of listening to her mother and uncle practice with the family country music band during her childhood. She was also a devoted animal lover who cared deeply for her pets.
Joyce's greatest calling was caring for others. She loved children and taught Sunday School and was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church of Byron, sharing her faith and love of God with younger generations. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her immediate family. She was a mentor, caregiver, Prayer Warrior, and source of encouragement to children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors. A devoted Christian, Joyce faithfully watched church services throughout the week and Sunday services at HeartCry Chapel in Saint Cloud. Her faith remained the foundation of her life, providing strength, comfort, and guidance through every season. Joyce was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star at Hesperus Chapter No. 823; beliefs of Charity, Truth, and Loving Kindness defined her.
Joyce was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Raymond Hart; her parents, Russell Brimmer and Nathallia Hargrave Brimmer; her sister, Helen Brimmer Dries; and her brother, Ronald John Brimmer, and other sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.
She is survived by her daughter, Rachel George Martinez and husband, Donnie Martinez of Saint Cloud, FL; grandchildren, Gabrielle George and fiancée, Abigail Camargo of Ocala FL; Rita Zhu and husband, Xavier Delorme of Ashville, NC; Dalton Martinez of Saint Cloud, FL; daughter, Carol Hart Trzaska and husband, Tom Trzaska of Saint Cloud, Florida; their (7) children, (17) grandchildren, and (22) great-grandchildren; son, Donald Hart and wife, Karen Hart of Covington, LA, their (4) children, (8) grandchildren, and (3) great-grandchildren; her sister, Shirley Brimmer Cudney of Byron, New York; and many beloved nieces and nephews whose lives were enriched by her love, wisdom, and guidance.
Joyce will be remembered for her unwavering faith, generous heart, adventurous spirit, remarkable talents, and boundless love for her family. Her legacy lives on in the lessons she taught, the traditions she shared, and the lives she touched. The family finds comfort in knowing that Joyce is now at peace in the presence of the Lord she faithfully served throughout her life. "She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come." - Proverbs 31:25
