Oakfield - John H. Summers, age 83, lifelong truck driver made his final trip home to be with his wife, Myrna on Monday, January 26, 2026.

He was born on July 29, 1942 in Fairmont, West Virginia, son of the late Albert Summers and Lula Slater Summers.

John worked as an over the road truck driver for Concrete Delivery in Lackawanna for many years and then transitioned to be a dispatcher for them to be home with his family. Following his retirement, he drove truck and worked in the office for Path Lines in Oakfield. He enjoyed collecting beer steins and model cars.

His family wishes to extend their sincere thanks and gratitude to the staff at the LeRoy Village Green Nursing Home for the wonderful care they gave to their dad.

His wife, Myrna Roush Summers, passed away on November 19, 2016.

Surviving are his children, Herb (Dana) Summers, Beth (Kevin) Scroger, Betsy (Darrin) Riexinger, John A. (Christy) Summers and Judy Zeeb; twelve grandchildren, Adam (Heather) Riexinger, Holly (Pat) Scroger, Katie (Andrew) Perkins, Amy (Kevin) Kroll, Melanie (James) Nichols, Christina (Tim) Harmon, Jeremy (Genevieve) Summers, Amanda Zeeb, Tommy Zeeb, Alex Summers, Michael Summers and Mason Summers; thirteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; his brother, Pastor Robert Summers; his sister, Ruth Pangallo; his brother-in-law, Jack Neale and many nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his sister, Nancy Jane Neale.

There are no prior calling hours. He will be laid to rest in Mount Pleasant Cemetery of Covode. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association of Western New York, American Heart Association or American Diabetes Association.
