Jack O. Hillabush, Jr.

December 10, 1959 — November 6, 2022

Jack O. Hillabush Jr., died peacefully Sunday after a long illness. Jack was a contracting carpenter for almost 40 years in Elba and the surrounding area. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing and boating. He had many close friends who he loved to spend time with.

He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Beverly Speed Hillabush; his two sons, Michael A. Butler of Elba and Peter C. (Katie) Butler of Maryland; a daughter-in-law, Kim Butler of Oakfield; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; his two sisters, Diana (Danny) Campbell of Clarendon and Donna (Scott) Capamaggio of North Carolina; four brothers, Greg (Donna) Hillabush of Elba, Jeff (Sharon) Hillabush of Albion, Ray (Diann) Hillabush of Clarendon and Mark (Cynthia) Hillabush of Rochester; two sisters-in-law, Lucille Speed Schultz of Elba and Jeanette Speed Grazioplene of Batavia and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Jack is predeceased by his mother and father, Doris and Jack Hillabush Sr., daughter-in-law, Debra Nichols Butler, son, Thomas S. Butler, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Virginia and Kenneth Mullen, brothers-in-law, Roger Speed, William Schultz and Gerald Grazioplene.

Calling hours are Thursday, November 10, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 403 East Main Street, Batavia. Jack's funeral will be held on Friday, November 11, at 11:00 a.m. at the Elba Presbyterian Church, 23 North Main Street, Elba. He will be laid to rest in Maplelawn Cemetery in Elba.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Elba Fire Department, P.O. Box 58, Elba, NY 14058 or the Elba Presbyterian Church, 23 North Main Street, Elba, NY 14058.
