Freda L. Baxter

Freda L. Baxter, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 5th, 2025, at the age of 100. Freda was born on October 7th, 1924, in Irondequoit, to the late Ada Downing Rockefeller and John Rockefeller.

Freda lived a full and vibrant life, finding joy in the simple pleasures of reading, arts and crafts, and traveling. She was particularly adventurous, taking to the skies in a hot air balloon at the age of 75, and later, in her 80s, going parasailing with her sister. Her zest for life was matched by her love for her family, with whom she treasured spending time. Freda worked as a cashier at Star Market in Brockport,

She was the beloved wife of the late Oscar E. Baxter, who passed on July 7, 1990. Together, they built a life filled with love and laughter.

Freda is survived by her children, Leon (Pam) Baxter of Holley, and Darlene (Walt) Almeter of Batavia. She will be dearly missed by her seven grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, as well as nieces and nephews, all of whom brought immense joy to her life.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family, and Freda will be laid to rest in Lakeview Cemetery, Brockport. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the activities fund at the New York State Veterans Home, 220 Richmond Avenue, Batavia, New York 14020, in Freda's memory.
