Francis E. Williams, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 26, 2025, at the age of 84. Born in Watertown, on August 31, 1941, a son of the late Walter and Amber Ward Williams.
He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, a testament to his enduring spirit and love for his nation. After his military service, he worked as a custodian at the United States Post Office in Rochester, where he was known for his strong work ethic and warm demeanor.
Surviving are his devoted wife, Karen M. Haas Williams, and their children, Amber G. Flint, Damon M. Williams, and Laura M. Williams, all of Batavia, and Jason J. (Eva) Williams of Maryland. He was a cherished grandfather to Rachel, Erica, and Carolynn Flint, and Evie Williams. He is also survived by his siblings, David (Pat) Williams of Alabama, NY, Ralph Williams of West Seneca, Wilbur Williams of Tennessee, Alfred (Sheila) Williams of Oregon, and Joan Cone of Oakfield, along with numerous sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, and nephews.
He had a passion for fishing and enjoyed spending time at Batavia Downs watching horse racing. He was an avid fan of the Buffalo Bills and had a deep affection for animals. He loved watching survival shows on the Discovery Channel and television shows on the BBC, and he delighted in sci-fi movies, especially the Harry Potter series, and soccer on television.
A memorial service with military honors will be held on Friday, October 10, 2025, at 11 a.m. at H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 403 East Main Street, Batavia. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Hildebrandt Hospice House, 2652 Ridgeway Avenue, Rochester, New York 14626, or Volunteers for Animals, P.O. Box 1621, Batavia, New York 14021.
