Erwin J. Stokes Sr.

Batavia - Erwin J. Stokes, Sr., age 91, passed away on Monday, October 26, 2026 at United Memorial Medical Center in Batavia.

He was born on October 1, 1935 in Batavia, son of the late James and Maxine Edwards Stokes.

An Army veteran, Erwin took great pride in his military service and had a lifelong interest in all things military. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, watching classic Western movies, and attending car shows and air shows.

He is predeceased by his wife, Jean R. Stokes who passed away on December 21, 2000 and his son, Robert W. Stokes who passed away on August 24, 2005.

Surviving are his children, Erwin J. Stokes, Jr., Debra J. Stokes, Michael D. Stokes and James M. (Julie Kosko) Stokes, all of Batavia; grandchildren, Andrew (Alicia Brenkus) Stokes, Jacob Stokes and Nathan Stokes; great-grandchildren, Everleigh Stokes and Callahan Stokes and his sister, Sharon Stokes of Batavia.
