Batavia - Eddie Lee Garner Sr., a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 30, 2025, at the age of 82.
Born on July 11, 1943, in Raleigh, North Carolina, Eddie's life was marked by his unwavering dedication to his family and his passion for helping others. He worked tirelessly as a horse trainer, a profession that not only showcased his strong work ethic but also his deep compassion and love for animals. Eddie's humor, kindness, and generosity left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He was a man who found joy in laughter and was known for his unwavering love for Katherine, the mother of his children.
He is survived by his loving daughter, Amy Maloney of Arizona; his son, Eddie L. Garner Jr., and his wife Jezzamin, residing in Kuwait; and his four cherished grandchildren. Eddie also leaves behind his dear sister, Alice Garner of West Virginia, and Katherine Shannon of Caledonia, the mother of his children. Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, Dallas and Katherine Garner, and several siblings.
Family and friends are invited to the H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 403 East Main Street in Batavia for a visitation on Saturday, (December 6, 2025), from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm, followed by a funeral service beginning at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to HomeCare & Hospice.
