Duane E. Goff

Listen to Obituary

Duane Edward Goff, 76 of Churchville, NY passed away peacefully on the morning of August 1, 2026, surrounded by his loving family at Strong Memorial Hospital after a 3-month illness. He was born in Warsaw, NY on February 5th, 1950. A son of late Arthur J and Hilda M (Shader) Goff.

Duane was a 1968 graduate of Letchworth High School where he participated in football and baseball. He earned his associates degree from Genesee Community College in 1970 and his Bachelors degree from RIT in 1981.

Duane worked for Eastman Kodak for over three decades, from 1970 to 2003. He was a long-time member of St. Martin De Porres (St.Vincent De Paul) in Churchville, where he worshipped since 1975. He also gave his time generously to the Boy Scouts of America, serving the Bergen community as a Scout Leader for Pack 31 from 1986-1989 and Scout Master.

He worked as a landscaper during his Kodak years and transitioned to it full-time after his retirement. His love of nature extended into his ownership of Goff's Heritage Tree Farms for many years. He planted over 30,000 trees in his lifetime in Pike, NY. Pike was truly his home away from home. There, he fulfilled a lifetime dream of building a pond on his property - a cherished spot where he loved fishing with his grandchildren and sharing the beautiful scenery with his close friends and family. Whether it was blueberry picking in the summer or cutting boughs for wreaths, it was a place of endless memories. He especially looked forward to the fall, cherishing the deep camaraderie and excitement of his annual hunting weekends with the guys.

Duane is survived by his wife of 54 years, Brenda (Riley) Goff. They were married on June 3, 1972 at St. Mary's Church in Silver Springs, NY. His son Todd (Krista) Goff of Churchville, daughter Karen (Thad) Brown of Bergen; grandchildren Eden and Ava Goff and Riley and Henry Brown. His brother Robert (Judy) Goff of Pike, sister Cathy Nourse of Tennessee and many other loving family members and friends.

Along with his parents, Duane is preceded in death by his daughter Karianne Goff (born asleep), sister Joanne Davis, sister Judy Bush and brother-in-law Lee Nourse.

The family will receive guests and loved ones on Friday August 28, 2026 from 3-6pm at H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home in Bergen, NY with a service immediately following at 6pm. Burial services will be held at East Koy Cemetery in Pike, NY on Sunday August 30th at 10:30am.
