Donald F. Fitch, Sr.

Basom - Donald F. Fitch, Sr. age 93, passed away on Sunday, September 13, 2026.

He was born on July 2, 1933 in Oakfield a son of the late Elmer Fitch and Ada Knopp Fitch.

He proudly served his country with the United States Army from 1950-1953 earning the rank of Sergeant. He earned the Korean Service Medal with six bronze stars, UN Service Medal and National Defense Service Medal. Don was a truck driver for 30 years with Teamsters Local Union No. 375. He attended the Alabama-Basom United Methodist Church and enjoyed traveling.

He is predeceased by his wife Jane E. Dusen Fitch on November 1, 2024.

Surviving are his sons, Donald F. Fitch, Jr. of Basom, Dennis (Julie) Fitch of Oakfield, Randy Fitch of Basom, Gary (Patricia) Fitch of Pittsford and Darryl Fitch of Orchard Park; five grandchildren, Christopher (Caitlin) Fitch, Carrie (Chad) Richards, Steve (Alice) Fitch, Trevor Fitch and Austin Fitch; five great-grandchildren, Emma and Chelsea Fitch, Chase Richards, Ryan and Ben Fitch along with several nieces and nephews.

There are no prior visiting hours. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. He will be laid to rest in Alabama Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to your local veterans organization.
