Dean Avery Hiler, age 89, of Churchville passed peacefully into the waiting arms of his Lord on October 31, 2025.
He was predeceased by his parents Avery and Helen, his foster brother Robert Kalpin, his ex-wife Margaret, his daughter Denise Coffin, and his son Christopher Dean Hiler.
He is survived by his son Adam (Marcia), grandchildren Charles (Rebecca) Coffin, Kristen Coffin, Glen (Meghan) Hiler, Annabelle (Tucker) Dowdy, and five great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his partner of 40+ years, Vickie Gross, and her loving family.
Dean was a member of Churchville United Methodist Church, Damascus Shrine, Hesperus Lodge #837, Etoleah Holmes Chapter #183 OES, Bergen Grange #163, and various farm and tractor organizations.
Dean loved his family, his extended family, and his land. He built a barn, a hanger, and a runway so he could restore many John Deere tractors, a 1965 B Mack Truck, and fly his airplane. He loved to fly. He is free at last and flying again.
Friends may call on Saturday, November 15, 2025 from 2 to 4 pm at H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 51 South Lake Avenue, Bergen where memorial services will immediately follow at 4 pm at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest in Mount Rest Cemetery, Bergen.
