David A Templeton

David A. Templeton, of Batavia, age 71, passed away on June 21, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born December 29, 1953, in Warsaw, New York, a son of Allen and Rita (Heiman) Templeton. David graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from RIT. He worked hard his entire life, not out of love for the jobs themselves but out of love for his family. He took on whatever roles were needed to provide for his children and never complained. One bright spot during those years was meeting the love of his life, Gloria. She would become his wife of 39 years. His quiet dedication and steady presence were a constant source of strength to those who knew him.

He loved watching football, playing with his grandchildren, and spending time with his children. A lifelong Buffalo Bills fan, he never gave up hope that this would be the year, and he made sure everyone else watched the game with him, whether they liked it or not. He was a deeply loving and caring man who would have done anything for his family. Some of his favorite pastimes included trips to the casino, Friday night dates with Gloria, attending baseball games, and cheering on his grandchildren at their sporting events. His mind was a steel trap. When it came to trivia, he was the guy you wanted on your team. He was quick with an answer and proud to be the MVP every time. At home, he enjoyed shows like Blue Bloods, M*A*S*H, and The King of Queens, and his all-time favorite movie was The Patriot.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Gloria Templeton; mother, Rita Templeton; children, Heather (Chris) Mirrione, Eric Ruggero, Mari (Travis) Graham, Jennifer (Robert) Kelley, Sarah Templeton, Trisha (Jess) DuFrane, and Melissa (Dylan) Schiffman; grandchildren, Aaron Mirrione, Ethan Mirrione, Dani Paxson, Timothy Kelley, Olivia Stone, Lucas Kelley, Sawyer Kelley, Benjamin Graham, Eliza Hughes, and Mara Schiffman; great-grandson, Nolan McVeigh; siblings, Daniel Templeton and Debbie Templeton; brother-in-law, Jim Bovenzi; sister-in-law, Sharon Bovenzi; beloved friend, Louise Walker; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

In death, David is reunited with his father, Allen Templeton; brother, Douglas Templeton; beloved friend, Scott Walker; and mother-in-law, Jean Rodrigues.

Arrangements are under the care of H.E. Turner & Co., Inc. Funeral Home, 403 E. Main Street, Batavia. As per the family’s request, there will be no services at this time.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in David’s memory to the American Heart Association.
