Daniel G. Cherry, Sr.

Daniel Cherry, Sr., age 64, passed away on May 10, 2026, at his home in Batavia.

Daniel was born in Columbus, Ohio to the late Donald Wiehle of Arizona and Linda Nickson of Oakfield. Later adopted by Richard Cherry Sr.

Daniel had a great love of camping and the outdoors as well as a deep passion for the arts. His love of photography was known by many, and his photographs were even featured in a show at Go-Art. Daniel LOVED his music and playing his guitar. Dan also enjoyed riding his bicycle around Batavia. He was a generous and kind man; he would always try and lend a helping hand wherever he could. But most importantly, he loved his kids.

Surviving along with his mother is his son, James Cherry of Batavia; his brothers, Michael Cherry of Oakfield and Richard Cherry, Jr. of Los Angeles, California.

In passing Daniel is reunited with his children Mariah Cherry, Daniel Cherry, Jr., step father Richard Cherry Sr.; and brother Steven Cherry.

Friends and family are invited to call on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at H E. Turner & Co., Inc. Funeral Home, 403 East Main Street, Batavia. At the family's request a private burial will take place in Elmwood Cemetery.
