Cynthia Lennon Hinchey, 78, passed away peacefully on September 29, 2026, surrounded by her loving husband and daughters.
Born on August 29, 1948, in Batavia, New York, Cynthia was the daughter of the late William Lennon and Kathryn Hale Lennon.
Cynthia was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who cherished her family and friends above all else. She accepted people, for who they were and loved them as such, always willing to help others in any capacity.
Throughout her professional life, Cynthia worked as a teacher and speech-language pathologist, dedicating her career to helping others. She enjoyed cooking, had a love of animals, and in recent years spent her time between New York and Bonita Springs, Florida.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Wally Hinchey; her daughters, Breanne Oyer (Seth) and Caroline McGraw (Chris); and her cherished grandchildren, Emma Oyer, Reese Oyer, Charlotte McGraw, and Hugh McGraw. She is also survived by her brother, Thom Lennon (Kay); nephew, Jay Lennon (Jean), and their son, Gavin; and niece, Courtney Iburi (Shin), and their children, Mika and Ren.
There are no prior calling hours. A service celebrating Cynthia's life will be held on Friday, October 16, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Main Road, Stafford, New York. She will be laid to rest in Machpelah Cemetery, LeRoy. Please consider memorials in her name to Notre Dame High School Foundation, 73 Union Street, Batavia, New York 14020.
