Batavia - Charles C. Casper, age 72, passed away on Friday, June 12, 2026 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester.
He was born on November 11, 1953 in Batavia, son of the late Harold and Nancy J. Carroll Casper.
Throughout his life, he found great joy in the simple pleasures of the outdoors. He enjoyed grilling for family and friends, spending time fishing and boating on family vacations at Chautauqua Lake. In his youth, he was actively involved in the FFA and Genesee County 4-H Program, where he developed a lifelong appreciation for agriculture and animals. He dedicated many years to working the family farm on Fotch Road, taking pride in its operation. Among his greatest pleasures was caring for his sheep and cows, and his deep connection to the land, and love of farming. He worked many years for the Star of the West Milling Company (Agway) in Churchville and drove bus for Byron-Bergen CSD.
Surviving are his children, Jennifer Casper and Daniel (Melanie) Casper, both of Mount Morris, Jeanne Casper of Oakfield and Joseph Casper of Elba; seven grandchildren, Syndi Casper, Joseph Casper, Kiah Rosendale, Benjamin Casper, Ashlyn Kingston, Laina Casper and Cora Casper; great-granddaughter, Tegan Cotes; his sisters, Beverly Garlipp of Florida and Becky (Bernie) Allen of Elba along with several nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his brother, John Casper.
There are no prior calling hours. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. He will be laid to rest in North Pembroke Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Genesee County Fish & Game Protective Association, Inc., P.O Box 217, Batavia, NY 14021 or to Elba Central School, c/o Tracy Dalhous, P.O. Box 370, Elba, NY 14058 In the memo line, please write "Elba FFA".
