BATAVIA — Carolyn Harl, 93, went home to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Jan. 11, 2026.
Carolyn was born in Washington, DC on Saturday, July 16, 1932, a Daughter of the late Kenneth and Ada (McVoy) Harl.
She enjoyed baking, reading, and frequently visited the library, where she loved working on crossword puzzles. She had a special affection for cats and was a devoted member of the Batavia First Presbyterian Church. She love her family and spending time with them.
Born into a military family, she spent her formative years moving from one naval base to another, growing up amid the rhythm and tradition of service across the country.
That lifelong connection to the military led her to serve as an Admiral’s Secretary, a role marked by trust, discretion, and dedication. She later continued their commitment to those who served by working as a substance abuse administrator at the Batavia Veterans Affairs Medical Center, where compassion and advocacy guided her work.
Carolyn is survived by her nephews, Brian (Connie) Paris and Andy (Pam) Paris; great nieces and nephews, Nicki Paris, Evan Paris, Alanna Paris, and Zachary Paris. She is also survived by members of her extended families of the Stokes and Sieberts. In death, Carolyn is reunited with her parents, Kenneth and Ada Harl, and her sister, Jackie (Leon) Paris. She will be remembered by her loving family and everyone whose life she touched.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Carolyn’s life during a visitation at Batavia First Presbyterian Church, 300 E Main St, Batavia, on Friday, Jan. 16, 2026, from 12 to 1 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. at Batavia First Presbyterian Church. She will be laid to rest in Grandview Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of H.E. Turner & Co., Inc., Funeral Home, 403 E. Main Street, Batavia.
