Carol Young

Carol A. Young, 86 of Batavia, passed away on Saturday (March 7, 2026) at Le Roy Village Green.

Carol was born December 25, 1939, in Batavia, daughter of the late Lester and Pearl (Thompson) Smith and wife of the late Guy Young.

She found great joy in the simple and meaningful things in life. She loved quilting and sewing, often creating pieces that will be treasured by those she loved, and she took pride in tending to her garden. A woman of deep faith, she dedicated much of her time to serving others, participating in several mission trips and enjoying fellowship at Bible Study. She had a special place in her heart for her beloved dog, Muffin, but nothing brought her greater happiness than time spent with her family-especially her cherished grandchildren.

Surviving are her daughters, Linda (Carlyle) Bump of Corfu, Kim (Robert) Barkley of Batavia, and Rebecca Gualtieri of Farmington; brother, Richard Smith; six grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, one great great granddaughter, and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends may call on Thursday, March 12, 2026, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at H.E. Turner & Co., Inc. Funeral Home, 403 East Main Street in Batavia. Carol's funeral service will be held on Friday, March 13, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at H.E. Turner & Co., Funeral Home, Batavia. She will be laid to rest with her husband, Guy, in Stafford Rural Cemetery.
