Batavia - Brad Lee Ohlson, beloved father, son, brother, and friend. Brad departed this world on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident at the age of 48.
Born on January 30, 1977, in Batavia, where he was a life long resident. He was known for his steadfast dedication to his work as a skilled mechanic; he could repair most any engine that crossed his path. Brad's adoration for engines extended beyond work hours, as he eagerly spent his free time indulging in outdoor pursuits such as fishing, hiking, kayaking, 4-wheeling, and dirt biking. He was also an enthusiastic spectator at drag races, savoring the adrenaline and camaraderie of the thrilling sport.
He is survived by his mother, Gail (late Frank) Carpenter of Arcadia, Florida; his children, Kayla Horseman of West Henrietta, Kolyen Ohlson (fiancé Kittiana Veguilla) of Batavia, and Arianna Ohlson (fiancé Adam Kowalski) of Batavia. He will be dearly missed by his brother, Jason Carpenter of Batavia, and his sister, Rebbecca Wissinger of Batavia. Brad was preceded in death by his sister, Christina DeLuna.
A memorial service to honor Brad's life will be held on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at11:00 am at H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 403 East Main Street in Batavia. The service will be officiated by Pastor Bill Hockey. All who knew Brad and wish to pay their respects are welcome to attend.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations in Brad's memory to be made to the family to help cover unforeseen expenses.
Brad will be remembered for his generous spirit, his love for adventure, and his unwavering ability to bring engines back to life. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
