Bergen - Bonnie L. Brinkman, age 83, passed away at Hildebrandt Hospice in Rochester following a brief illness.
She was born on August 20, 1942 in Rochester, a daughter of the late Kenneth and Lorraine Clark Gough.
A graduate of the former Bryant & Stratton College in Rochester, Bonnie worked in their Business Office for 15 years. A faithful member of Bergen United Methodist Church, she was a member of the auxiliary of the Post 575 Sackett-Merrill-White American Legion Post and volunteered as a bartender at the legion. A member of the recreation group at Hidden Meadows she served as the president of the home owners association for 10 years.
Bonnie enjoyed penguins, anything Coca-Cola and "worked" for Santa Claus for many years.
She is predeceased by her husband, Richard N. Brinkman, Sr., who passed away on June 30, 1999.
Surviving are her children, Charlene (Mark) Baylor of Holley, Daniel Cunningham of Bloomield and Steven (Julie) Cunningham of Bergen; six grandchldren, six great-grandchildren and her sister, Roberta Gough of LeRoy.
There are no prior visiting hours. Memorial services for Bonnie will be held on Friday, May 15, 2026 at 11 am at Bergen United Methodist Church, 27 South Lake Avenue, Bergen. She will be laid to rest in Machpelah Cemetery, LeRoy. Please consider memorials in her name to your local American Legion.
