Agnes Austin

Agnes Austin, age 78, of Batavia, passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at Premier Genesee Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation.

Agnes was born on May 11, 1947, in Batavia, a daughter of the late Rea and Lousie (Reddix) Austin.

She was an avid birdwatcher who found great joy in feeding the birds and fish and spending quiet time enjoying nature. She also enjoyed watching her favorite soap operas, a pastime that brought her comfort and relaxation, as well as getting her hair done. Above all, she treasured time spent with her family. Nothing meant more to her than being surrounded by loved ones, and she shared a particularly special bond with her nieces and nephews, who brought her endless pride and happiness. Her kindness, warmth, and love for family will be remembered by all who knew her.

Agnes is survived by her sister, Eva Calisto, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In death she is reunited with her parents and siblings, Rosetta, Irene, Marguerite, Beatrice, Donald, and Sidney.

A graveside service will be held on Friday (March 13, 2026) at 11:00 a.m. in Cary Cemetery, 21 Albert Street, Oakfield, NY. Officiating Rev. William Vasciannie
