Mrs. Winifred Hume, 77, of Alexander, died Tuesday (April 24, 2012) at the United Memorial Medical Center in Batavia.
Mrs. Hume was born January 22, 1935 in Batavia, a daughter of the late Walter and Ruth (Kelsey) Bennett.
Mrs. Hume was an operating room nurse at the former Genesee Memorial Hospital in Batavia for 44 years. She was a member of the Alexander United Methodist Church, Alexander Ha...ppy Agers, Older Boys and Girls Club, Alexander Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, AORN and Silver Sneakers. She enjoyed sewing and China Painting. Mrs. Hume was a secretary and treasurer for the West Bethany Cemetery Association.
Survivors include two sons, John (Linda) Hume and Roger (Mary Jo) Hume, both of Batavia; five granddaughters, Cady Hume, Jenna Hume, Abbey Hume, Lauren Hume and Nicole Hume, all of Batavia; a sister, Ruth Davis of Webster; a brother-in-law, James (Jean) Hume of Batavia and several nieces and nephews.
She is the wife of the late Robert L. Hume.
