William Jay Hunt Jr.
Bergen - William Jay Hunt, Jr., 87, of Bergen, a teller at Fleet Bank in Batavia for 20 years prior to his retirement, died Thursday, October 12, 2012 at Strong Memorial Hospital, in Rochester.
Mr. Hunt was born April 13, 1925 in Bergen, the son of the late William Jay (Sr.) and Edith Mae (Sherman) Hunt.
He attended the Bergen United Methodist Church. He also attended West High School in Rochester and was a bookkeeper at Judge Motors in Rochester for 20 years. He enjoyed playing Bingo and assisted many of the local fire departments with their bingo programs.
His wife, Emily (Oakden) Hunt, died February 1, 1986.
Survivors include 2 sons, Keith (Janice) Hunt of Batavia and Dennis (Cindy) Hunt of Albion; a daughter, Marlene (Gregory) Fagen of Fairport; 4 grandchildren, Robert (Evelyn) Hunt, Jeremy (Jennifer) Hunt, and Chad (Roxanne) Hunt of Batavia and Kevin (Nichole) Hunt of Greece; 3 step-grandchild, John Konarski, Jeff Konarski and James Fagan; 6 great-grandchildren, Colin Hunt, Austin Hunt, Alexander Hunt, Mycala Hunt, Trevor Hunt and Andrew Hunt; 3 step great-grandchildren, Gaege Pierce, Blaise Konarski and Marley Konarski; an aunt, Helen Robinson of Bergen; a brother-in-law, Philip Southern of TX; several nieces and nephews.
There are no prior calling hours. Private services will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bergen United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 216, Bergen, NY 14416 or to the Bergen Fire Department and Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 428, Bergen, NY 14416. Arrangements were completed by H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home of Bergen.
