Mrs. Rose Zigrossi, 97, a lifetime resident of Oakfield, died Monday, September 24, 2012 at United Memorial Medical Center, in Batavia.
Mrs. Zigrossi was born April 21, 1915 in Oakfield, the daughter of the late Antonio and Marion (Sapienza) Cusmano.
She was a lifetime member of St. Padre Pio Parish in Oakfield.
Her husband, the late Santo Zigrossi died in 2003. She was the mother of the late Raymond, grandmother of the late Taryn Hilleges and sister of the late Anna Lentine, Josephine Costantine, Phillip and Dominic Cusmano.
Survivors include one son, Harry Zigrossi of Elba and one daughter, Diane (Robert) Fraser of Batavia. She was the grandmother of Daryl (James) Rubino, Raymond (Therese) Zigrossi, Jr., Kristen (Thomas) Persone, Emily (Greg Branche) Tenney and Erin (Robert) Allen and nine great-grandchildren. Also surviving is her grandson-in-law, Brad Hilleges, nieces and nephews.
There will be no prior calling hours. Family and friends are invited to her Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, September 27, 2012, at 10:30 am at St. Padre Pio Parish, St. Cecilia's Church, 56 Maple Avenue, Oakfield. Memorials may be made to UMMC Hospital League, 127 North St., Batavia, NY 14020 or St. Padre Pio Parish, 56 Maple Ave., Oakfield, NY 14125. Entombment will be in St. Joseph's Mausoleum, Batavia
