    Ronald Schramm

    March 27, 1938 - December 20, 2020

    Byron - Ronald I.Schramm, 82 of Byron, passed away on Sunday, (December 20, 2020) at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. Mr. Schramm was born March 27, 1938 in Batavia, a son of the late Christian Schramm and Ethel (Sage) Schramm. Ron was outdoorsy and enjoyed playing horseshoes, boating, and fishing. He also enjoyed bowling. He was an avid Buffalo Bills and New York Yankees fan. Ron along with his late wife adopted 18 children and fostered over 170. Ronald is the husband of the late Theodora J. "Teddie" Schramm who passed away October 14, 2019. Surviving are his children, Peter (Elizabeth) Schramm of New Bern, North Carolina, Raymond (Edna) Schramm of Batavia, Scott (Lori) Schramm of Middleport, and Cindy L. Day of Alabama; a daughter-in-law, Mary Schramm of Bergen; a brother, Leonard (Esther) Schramm of Ocala, Fla.; sisters, Althea (late Richard) Penepent of Batavia, and Ethel (Roger) Uptegrove of Castile. 14 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews also survive. Ron is preceded in death by a son, Ronald H. Schramm, Sr.; a brother, Donald (late Ann) Schramm; sisters, Daris (late Richard) Stack, and Edna (late Charles) Torrey. There is no visitation. A memorial service will be held for Ron at a later date to be announced. Burial will be in Byron Cemetery in Byron. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Genesee Cancer Assistance, 127 North Street, Batavia, New York 14020. Arrangements were entrusted to the H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home in Batavia.
