    Batavia - Robert E. "Bob" Johnson, 92, of Batavia, passed away Thursday, (April 4, 2013) at the Martin-Linsin Residence, in Albion, following a brief illness. Mr. Johnson was born July 31, 1920 in Rochester, a son of the late Ruben and Gertrude (Baumgardner) Johnson. Bob served in the United States Army Air Forces during World War II, primarily in the South Pacific. He married the love of his life, Evelyn Lazeski, in 1946. They were married for 56 years and enjoyed their retirement spending winters at their home in Boca Raton, Fl. Bob began his career working for Coca Cola. He was a retired United States Postal Carrier and owner of Johnson Signs. Bob was past commander of New York State's Loyal Order of the Cootie and past steward of the VFW Post 1602 and the Batavia Moose Lodge. He was a member of the Polish Falcons, Elks Club, and the former St. Nicholas Club. Bob loved nothing more than spending time with his family, watching baseball, football, and NASCAR. He also loved anything Coca-Cola. He is survived by his children, Kathleen Johnson and Robert (Jane) Johnson both of Batavia and Debra (Bill) Johnson-Churchill of Wellington, Fl; grandchildren, Bryan (Paulette) Conley, Katherine (Frank) Knapfel, Geoffrey (Samantha) Churchill and Alexander Johnson; great-grandchildren, Payton and Samantha Conley, and Cole Knapfel; brothers, Norman and Gary Johnson; sisters-in-law, Pat and Laurie Johnson as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his cherished wife of 56 years, Evelyn (Lazeski) Johnson and his brothers, Donald and David (late Gloria) Johnson. A special Thank You to the staff on the second floor of the United Memorial Medical Center in Batavia and to the staff at the Martin-Linsin Residence for their care and support. There is no prior visitation. Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Orleans, Inc. - Donations, 14080 Route 31 West, P.O. Box 489, Albion, New York 14411. Entombment in St. Joseph's Mausoleum, Batavia. Arrangements were entrusted to the Bohm-Calarco-Smith Funeral Home, 308 East Main St., Batavia.
