Nicolina Smart

Oakfield- Mrs. Nicolina L. "Nicky" Smart, 86, of Oakfield, employee of Harrison Radiator Corporation in Lockport for over 25 years, died Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at the LeRoy Village Green Nursing Facility.



Mrs. Smart was born October 24, 1925 in Oakfield, a daughter of the late Joseph and Elisa DiMassi Perozzi.



A member of Padre Pio Parish - St. Cecilia's Worship Site, Mrs. Smart was an active member of the LeRoy Moose Club and she enjoyed crocheting. She, along with her late husband George, loved to travel, especially cruises and to dance. They spent most weekends traveling to find somewhere to dance.



Her husband of 59 years, George D. Smart, died September 28, 2009.



Survivors include her son, Gregory (Deborah) Smart of Oakfield; two grandchildren, Hillary (Nicholas) Amici of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and Jacob Smart of Oakfield; two great-grandchildren, Ethan and Alexander Amici, both of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; two brothers, Frank (Ann) Perozzi of North Chili and Tony (late Norma) Perozzi of Oakfield; her sister, Lillian (late Don) Weidner of Oakfield; her brother-in-law, Mario "Hank" Ianni of Lockport and several nieces and nephews.



She is predeceased by her sisters, Gina (late Eugene) Nanni and Maria Ianni.



Friends may call on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Burdett & Sanford Funeral Home, 11 Maple Avenue, Oakfield, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday. Memorials may be made to Padre Pio Parish, 56 Maple Avenue, Oakfield, New York 14125. Burial will be in St. Cecilia's Cemetery, Oakfield.
