Batavia - Mary A. Peters Ells, 75, of Batavia, passed away Friday, (September 3, 2021), at the Leroy Village Green in LeRoy, New York, after a brief illness.
Mary was born April 16, 1946, in Batavia, New York, the daughter of the late James L. (Bud) and Margaret E. (Carson) Peters, also preceded in death by her brother Terrence W. Peters and sister-in-law Karen K. Peters.
Mary retired from United Memorial Hospital after working more than 30 years as the overnight switchboard operator. She had worked previously at the family’s beloved Delicatessen (Peters) on West Main Street in Batavia. Mary enjoyed taking ceramics classes, crafting, gardening, and reading. Her greatest love was spending time and visiting with her family.
Mary is survived by her daughter Aimslee (Patrick) Cassidy, her son Dereck (Mary Beth) Ells, her niece Jennifer (Jason) Dedman, her grandchildren Colin (Kayla)Cassidy, Kaylee Cassidy, Cameron Ells, and Olivia Ells, great niece Bianca Dedman and Great Nephew Brady Dedman.
Services will be private. Mary will be laid to rest beside her parents in Grand View Cemetery in Batavia. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Crossroads House, PO Box 403, Batavia, New York 14021 or online at www.crossroadshouse.com . Arrangements for Mary were entrusted to H.E. Turner & Co.
