Batavia - Marjorie V. Phillips, 98, of Batavia, and Alder Creek, NY, died Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at LeRoy Village Green Nursing Facility, in LeRoy, NY.
Mrs. Phillips was born November 7, 1914 in Woodgate, NY, a daughter of the late Henry and Lottie (Recknall) Smith.
She moved from Alder Creek to Batavia 10 years ago. She attended Northgate Free Methodist Church and remained a member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in Boonville. She enjoyed animals and was known as a loving homemaker and cook.
Her Husband, Charles W. Phillips died May 14, 1978.
Survivors include a daughter, Nancy L. Simmons of Batavia, a sister, Florence Putney of Boonville; 4 great-grandchildren, Matthew Goodrich of Buffalo, Erik Goodrich of Batavia, Julia Goodrich of Columbus, OH and Bill Schultz of serving in Korea with the US Army; survived by several nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Earl Smith and Frank Smith and grandmother of the late Shari Schultz and Esther Ruth Goodrich.
Friends may attend a memorial services at 3 p.m. Saturday, April 13, 2013 at Boonville Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, in Boonville. Memorials may be made to Boonville Christian and Missionary Alliance, 12593 Potato Hill Road, Boonville, NY 13009 or to The Christian and Missionary Alliance Great Commission Fund, P.O. Box 35000, Colorado Springs, CO 80935. Burial will be in Alder Creek Cemetery, Alder Creek. Arrangements were completed by H.E. Turner & Co., Funeral Home of Batavia.
