    Mrs. Marjorie A. Cunningham

    November 1, 1935 - January 12, 2022

    Marjorie A. Bates Cunningham passed away peacefully at home on January 12, 2022. She was born in Batavia, a daughter of the late Kenneth and Marion Welker Bates. She will be remembered as a very caring mother, grandma and lady who touched the hearts of her family and friends. A devout catholic, she was a member of St. Brigid Church, The Ladies of Charity of the church and was an honorary member of the Bergen Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. Marjorie worked at Specialized Caledonia Printing Forms, Rochester Telephone, Byron-Bergen Elementary School Cafeteria where she was known to all students as "Mrs. Cunningham" and H. E. Turner Funeral Home in Bergen as a greeter. She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, George F. Cunningham; her daughter, Lisa Crosier (Chuck Bailey); her son, Lewis Cunningham (Linda); grandchildren, Michael Crosier (Lexi) and Stacey Crosier Cody (Chris Cody) and her great grandchildren whom she adored, Mckenzie and Cayden. She is also survived by her siblings, Lorraine Zury (Bill), Robert Bates (Late Shirley), Ron Bates (Robin) and Frank Bates (Barb) and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her brother, Richard Bates and her sister, Joyce Newcomb (Late Robert). Friends may call on Tuesday from 3 pm to 7 pm at the H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 51 South Lake Avenue, Bergen. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 11 am at St. Brigid Church, 18 Gibson Street, Bergen. Private burial will be held at Mount Rest Cemetery, Bergen. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Bergen Fire Department, P.O. Box 428, Bergen, New York 14416.
