Batavia - Lois J. Bernard, 89, of Batavia, passed away on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at the Hildebrandt Hospice Care Center in Rochester.
Lois was born February 19, 1929 in Batavia, the daughter of the late Frederick and Wilma (Holton) Plowe.
Lois was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Batavia, where she sang in the church choir and was a member of the Ingram Class. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting and was a 1947 graduate of Batavia High. Lois was a data processor at GTE Sylvania in Batavia.
Survivors include her children, Ronald (Sandra) Bernard of Batavia, Gary (Nina) Bernard of Stafford, Karen (John) Haun of Brooks, GA, Raymond (Kathy) Bernard of Batavia and Bruce (Lisa) Bernard of Pavilion, twelve grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Lois is the wife of the late Edward Bernard.
Calling hours are Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church, 8221 Lewiston Road, Batavia, where services will be Saturday at 10:00 a.m. Lois will be laid to rest in Grandview Cemetery, Batavia.
Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 8221 Lewiston Road, Batavia, NY 14020.
