Batavia - Mrs. Linda R. Martin, of Batavia, passed away on Friday afternoon, October 18, 2013 at United Memorial Medical Center.
Mrs. Martin was born January 4, 1946 in Lyndonville, a daughter of the late Robert and Florence (Ogilvie) Jones. A student of Lyndonville High School, Mrs. Martin was employed by the Corning Glass Company and Lyndonville Canning Company for several years.
She was a dedicated volunteer at the Sisters Closet women's shelter and Genesee County Legal Aid office. She enjoyed gardening, collecting dolls and angels, summers on her front porch, and most of all the loving relationships between her family and vast number of friends.
She is predeceased by her husbands, Dewey M. Goetze and James R. Martin and her brother, Ronald Jones.
Survivors include her daughters, Robin L. Goetze (Rick) of Batavia and Victoria Goetze-Nelson (Rolf) of Seattle, Washington; a son, Scott A. Goetze (Jeanne) of Lyndonville; her grandsons, Dustin, Justin, Thomas and Nikolai; a granddaughter, Mikayla; brother: Mike Jones (Linda) of Rochester; sisters, Sandy Feltz (Dick) of Athens, Pennsylvania and Barbara Mielcareck of Niagara Falls and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call on Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 403 East Main Street, Batavia. Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family at Lynhaven Cemetery, Lyndonville.
