    Low Falls, SC/Batavia - Joseph S. SanFratello, 94, of Low Falls, SC and formerly of Batavia, died Monday (July 23, 2012) at The Oaks in Orangeburg, SC. Mr. SanFratello was born March 2, 1918, a native of Genesee County. He was a son of the late Angelo SanFratello and the late Frances (LaRussa) SanFratello; he was born the seventh child in a family of nine children (six boys and three girls). He was a graduate of Batavia High School and Rochester Business Institute. He was employed during the Depression era of the 1930s on farms and with the Civilian Conservation Corps. In the 1940s, he was employed by Doehler Die Casting Company. Mr. SanFratello was sworn into the United States Air Force in Buffalo, N.Y., in 1941. He served throughout World War II as a post personnel sergeant major, writing special orders for the commission of officers (pilots). After serving four-and-a-half years in the Air Force, he went to work in 1951 as an accountant with DuPont Company, Savannah River Site, Aiken. After 27 years of service, he retired in 1978 to the Low Falls community of Santee Cooper, where he enjoyed fishing and hunting in the great outdoors of South Carolina while fellowshipping with local friends. Survivors include his children, Guy J. (Judy) SanFratello of Gaston, SC, Angelo J. (Margaret) SanFratello of Mount Olive, NC and Williams S. (Debbie) SanFratello of Suwanee, Ga.; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He was the husband of the late Rozelle (Fleming) SanFratello. Graveside services will be held on Friday at 2:00 at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Ellicott Street, Batavia. Memorials may be made to The Oaks, P.O.
