Batavia - Joan C. Whyman, 71, of Batavia, passed away Saturday, (September 22, 2012) at Eastside Nursing Home, in Warsaw.
Miss Whyman was born July 21, 1941 in Batavia, a daughter of the late Walter and Gertrude (Courtney) Whyman.
She was a member of St. James Episcopal Church, in Batavia and she participated in many church activities.
Surviving are her siblings, Florence Balicki of Tucson, AZ, Norma Ralyea of Angelica, Jeanne Whyman of NC, Susan (Howard) Gerhardt of Galt, CA, Diane Whyman of Tucson, AZ, Donna Whyman of Alexander, William (Karin) Whyman of Modesto, CA, Michael Whyman and Peter (Diane) Whyman, both of Batavia. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Joan is preceded in death by her brothers, Robert and Thomas Whyman.
There will be no prior visitation. A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family to be distributed to Joan's favorite charities. Inurnment will be in St. James Columbarium, Batavia. Arrangements were entrusted to the H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home.
